Philanthropic services

In many respects, giving to charity may be seen as a form of investment in your community and the world beyond. And, as with any other kind of investment, the return on your commitment – the difference you can make to the lives of others – will almost certainly be greater if you pursue a clearly defined, well structured strategy, supported by advice from our specialist partners.

That, we believe, is precisely what we can now help you to do.

If setting up your own independent Charitable Family Trust is the right solution, we can introduce you to the Coutts Charitable Trust team.

Acting as a co-trustee, you can play as active a role as you wish in the running of your Trust, leaving our expert team of trust specialists to relieve you of all the burdensome administration. You will be regularly updated on the performance of your fund, and on how the charities you support are using your donations. Both in terms of expertise and attentiveness, the service is everything you would expect from Coutts. And once the trust is established, we can help meet the general banking and cash management needs as well as undertake the investment management of the underlying funds.

We should stress from the outset that, in this regard, our role is not to advise you on specific charitable causes deserving your support. Rather, we will help you to explore your broad charitable objectives, and if appropriate, effect an introduction to a specialist intermediary such as Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), Community Foundation Network (CFN) or New Philanthropy Capital (NPC).
