COUTTS MAKES NEW APPOINTMENT FOR OXFORD
January 2002

Coutts, the UK's leading private bank, has announced the appointment of Roger Plummer as senior private banker in its Oxford regional office.

Roger, 47, will be responsible for managing the wealth of clients who are retired or are nearing retirement. His appointment reflects Coutts strategy to organise its private bankers around specific groups with the aim of providing tailored financial solutions to protect and grow their wealth.

With 29 years' experience within financial services, Roger joins Coutts from HSBC Trust Company where he held a variety of roles. In the last five years of his time with HSBC, Roger worked as senior private client manager with responsibility for pensions, investments, trusts and financial planning.

Commenting on his appointment, Roger said: "There are over 10.5 million retired people in the UK representing 18% of the total population. With the baby boom coming through, this is expected to increase to 11.8 million by 2010. The average personal wealth of retired people in the last few years has increased, and it has become even more important for those nearing retirement to seek professional advice."

Coutts' Oxford office looks after clients based in the Oxfordshire area. It offers a tailored approach to managing the wealth of clients, focusing on preserving and growing their wealth.
