COUTTS & CO MAKES SENIOR APPOINTMENT

Coutts & Co, the UK's leading private bank, has appointed James Fleming as head of its international client group. Fleming will be leading the team of private bankers who are responsible for providing cross-border financial services for international clients who hold assets in the UK.

Fleming, aged 40, joins Coutts from S G Hambros Bank & Trust Limited where he was managing director of London Private Banking. He joined Hambros Bank in 1980, progressing through a number of roles before being appointed managing director in October 1999.

His proven success and experience with international private clients make him an ideal choice to head up this important client group. Coutts & Co has organised its private bankers around ten different groups of clients including entrepreneurs, professionals, executives, landowners and sports and entertainment. The international client group is one of the largest of these in terms of number of clients and revenue.
